HYNDBURN pop rockers Some Friendly last night kicked off a series of events which lead up to this summer's Sound 2000 event in Accrington.
The Clayton-le-Moors five-piece were set to play at the Brooks Club, Infant Street, Accrington, with support from the Infernal Vibe Assassins.
Bands are set to play at the Brooks Club on the first Friday of every month. Acts already booked include Depot 9, Maupa and the No 9 Crew. Showcases for younger bands are eing arranged at Accrington Town Hall and DJ contests are also being organised.
Sound 2000 begins on August 4 and will culminate in the now-established free outdoor festival in Oak Hill Park on August 13.
Bands, DJs or artists who want to play at the festival should contact Dave Fullalove on 07801 042279 or Yvonne Robins on 01254 380280. Or drop your tape or CD off at the Accrington Town Hall, addressed to Yvonne Robins.
