YOUNG musicians from Park High School, Colne, struck a positive chord when they performed at Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, Padiham.
Organised by the local branch of the National Women's League, it involved the school choir, woodwind and recorder ensembles and was conducted by Patricia Brierley.
There was also a service led by Rev Dr David Usher, president of the National Women's League Joyce Thompson and other members of the group, followed by a Lancashire Lunch of potato pie and peas, fruit jelly, ginger cake and oat biscuits. The event raised cash for the Kharang Rural Centre, in the Khasi Hills, India.
Mrs Thompson said: "It is a 16-mile walk to the next village for anyone who is ill and we are looking to providing transport for them to the centre, which is a school and hospital."
Joyce Thompson and Dr David Usher are pictured being served their 'Lancashire Lunch' at the chapel.
