A BROTH morning held in Padiham, raised £200 for the mayor's charities and fed more than 60 people.
The annual event was organised by Carol Stinton (pictured on the left), a member of the Mayoress's committee, and was held in her house, in Church Street.
Money collected from the meal, a tombola and raffle will go into a general fund which will split among the Mayor's three charities - Pendleside Hospice, NSPCC and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital - at the end of the year.
The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Eddie Fisk and Mrs Pat Chadwick, attended the event, which was open for three hours on Sunday and members of the Mayoress' committee provided a large variety of sweets, including apple pie, rhubarb pie and sponge cake.
Carol said: "It was very well supported. I made 60 dumplings and they were all eaten. I might have to have a curry morning next year if we have an Asian Mayor, because I don't know if he would he eat broth."
