DAREDEVIL mother-of-two Joanne Buck has her feet firmly on land after taking part in a sponsored sky-dive - but not for long.
Joanne, 33, of Duke Street jumped out of an aeroplane at 11,000ft - free-falling for the first 6,000ft at about 135 mph
Her courage earned her £237 sponsorship, which she handed over to St James' Lanehead School, Burnley, where her children, Joshua and Helen (pictured with her), are pupils.
Joanne, who took part in the event at the North West parachute centre in Cumbria, is already planning her next venture.
She said: "I went up in a helicopter last June, then the sky-dive, and I might do a bit of abseiling next. It was something I wanted to do for a while, and a good way to raise money.
"I've got a video of it and my son keeps watching it over and over again.
"It was brilliant and so different to what I expected. I don't like heights but it didn't actually feel like it was that high. It was an usual experience but it's over so quickly.
"I'll be 34 soon and I wanted to start doing something before I got older."
