VILLAGERS from Hoddlesden protesting against development on Green Belt land formed a protest committee. Vernon Carus, a surgical dressing manufacturer based in the village, applied for permission to develop five sites it owned in the village in order to kickstart a £6 million regeneration of the firm.
A private landowner also applied for permission to convert Green Belt land off Glenshiels Avenue into a residential plot.
