MR K Mills (Letters, January 20) has revealed my dark deep shameful secret -I am an atheist.
But, Mr Mills, unlike Christians, I do not go about trying to impose my beliefs on others, neither do I condemn anyone who lives a different kind of lifestyle. I have never tortured, burned or forcedly converted anyone, nor do I intend to.
What does intrigue me is that most of the Christians I have spoken to do not appear to understand their own Bible and only quote little sound bites, usually out of context.
Since my letters querying Christianity have appeared, I have noticed that my Christian friends do tend to keep an arms-length distance when in my company, probably to avoid the thunderbolts that are likely to strike me.
An interesting point Mr Mills might like to ponder is that none of the other religions has shown any interest in this correspondence, possibly because they are more tolerant.
