A SECOND-floor bedroom at a Burnley guesthouse was severely damaged as fire swept through the room.
The building in Colne Road was evacuated as fire-fighters from Burnley and Accrington tackled the blaze.
The operation caused major traffic tailbacks along the main Burnley-Nelson Road.
Furniture in the room was destroyed and there was smoke damage to the second floor of the premises.
A fire brigade spokesman said the cause of the blaze was being investigated.
