CHERRY Tree paceman John Hughes has turned down the chance to sign professional terms with Batley next season.
Hughes was approached by the North Stafford and South Cheshire League outfit over the winter but decided to reject their substantial offer and remain as an amateur.
But he may still quit Cherry Tree anyway as he is currently mulling over a move to Manchester side Didsbury.
Hughes has been one of the Jennings Ribblesdale League's most consistent bowlers after coming through the ranks at Preston Old Road.
But he has recently moved to Manchester and a club nearer his new house could prove a more tempting option.
