A DONATION of £2,500 has winged its way to Rossendale Hospice from the Royal Pigeon Racing Association.
The money, which will be used to provide care for local people with life threatening diseases, was raised at the Association's annual British Homing World Show of the Year in Blackpool.
Local pigeon fanciers Bob and Annie Walker wrote to the national committee requesting a donation for Rossendale Hospice and for the third consecutive year won a large donation.
The Hospice has received £5,500 from the association to date.
Appeals director Liz Nelson said: "We are very grateful once again to Annie and Bob for their continuing support for the Hospice and for making this wonderful donation possible."
