WOMEN have been able to give their views on how health services in Blackburn with Darwen could be improved.
The meeting of the Women's Forum, a group set up to deal with issues affecting the women in the borough, was attended by more than 20 women from different groups and organisations.
Janet Ledward, assistant chief executive from the Primary Care Group in Blackburn spoke about the provision of health services and the roles played by groups such as East Lancashire Health Authority.
She said a consultation was currently in progress to establish a primary care trust in place of the group, and talked about the benefits this would have for health services locally.
Former nurse Vera Holmes talked about services that promote health and particularly women's health in the borough.
The next meeting of the group will be held on April 3.
