ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman is hoping to sign striker Gerrard Courtney from Southport in time for Saturday's game against Flixton.
The Reds have yet to replace leading scorer Gary Williams who joined Nationwide Conference outfit Doncaster Rovers for a club record £60,000 fee last month.
But Coleman believes Courtney could fit the bill after he was recommended by Southport assistant boss Paul Lodge.
The Sandgrounders are not demanding a fee for the 21-year-old who has featured mainly in the reserves at Haig Avenue this season.
