POLICE investigating an alleged sexual assault in Mercer Park, Clayton-le-Moors, say they are satisfied that no attack took place.
A 17-year-old girl claimed she had been sexually assaulted in the park on Sunday night. Part of the park was cordoned off and examined and the girl was interviewed by specially trained officers.
Inspector Bob Ford of Great Harwood Police said: "The complaint has been withdrawn. No arrests were made. We have completed our inquiries and we are satisfied that no assault has taken place."
