BREWING and leisure group Whitbread is selling off pubs it bought last year as part of its £730million takeover of rival Swallow.
The properties to go under the hammer are 187 managed and tenanted pubs located mainly in Yorkshire and the North East and include the branded Bramwells and Barcentro pubs.
Whitbread, which employs more than 1,000 in East Lancashire, will keep hold of a small number of properties which it will convert to Whitbread-branded pubs.
