MORE than 100 people turned up to say farwell to long-serving employee Linda Lacey (pictured, front left, with husband Jack, colleagues and friends) on her retirement from Marks and Spencer, Blackburn.
Staff, family and friends joined a retirement party for Linda, 55, who became part of the sales team in 1965.
She had worked at the store for a total of 30 years, taking a few years out when her daughter was born.
Linda, of Assheton Road, Blackburn, has worked in every part of the store, ran the staff shop and took part in the store's charity work, including managing the local Children's Promise campaign.
Staff gifts included a china figurine, pottery, champagne and chocolates.
Linda plans to spend her retirement gardening but she isn't giving up her sales work entirely - she plans to devote more of her free time to helping sell her husband Jack's paintings.
