LOVE was in the air during a special Valentine's singles night at Blackburn's Asda store.
Lonely hearts got the chance to find a little romance in among the frozen peas as staff at the supermarket, in Grimshaw Park, turned Cupid for a night. Stickers of famous lovers, such as Adam and Eve and Robin Hood and Maid Marian, were handed out at random. The names on the stickers were announced every 20 minutes over the Tannoy, at which point couples had to find each other and make their way to a special "lovers' lane" check-out. The first couple to be paired up in the store won cinema tickets for their first date.
Stuart Smart, store manager, said: "It's great to play Cupid for our customers and get single people together for Valentine's Day.
"These nights are very popular and have even resulted in a few marriages, so there's definitely a chance you will bag more than just your shopping."
Pictured are perfect partners Louise and Christopher Hodgson who entered into the fun spirit at Asda - even though they are married!
