ONE of Leigh's architectural gems has regained its identity.
The Boar's Head, which stands proudly in Market Place opposite the Parish Church, has reverted to its proper title after a short spell under the Flitch and Firkin banner.
Sarah Meek, who runs the Carlsberg Tetley pub with partner Chris Warner, said: "We're reverting to a more traditional pub atmosphere aimed at a cross section of customers.
"We're serving food every day from noon to 6 and children are welcome with families."
Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
