WIGAN Rangers are teaching people to pull the birds.
The council service is inviting everyone to a conservation day at Hesketh Meadow, Lowton, on Sunday (February 13, 1pm) where they will be taught how to build and site bird boxes to help our feathered friends.
Parks community liaison officer, Mike Berry, said: "Having different varieties of birds in the garden and around your home is one of the great pleasures of life, and the best way to attract them is to provide the sort of shelter they like.
"So far this year we haven't experienced any really hard winter weather, but we've probably got some to come in the next few weeks, when the bird population will be in need of extra feeding and warm homes in which to raise their young."
Anyone interested should meet at Lowton Civic Car Park. Tools will be provided.
