AN inquest was opened and adjourned into the death of 78-year-old Dorothy Saville, of Wavell Street, Burnley. She died at Burnley General Hospital on February 4 following a surgical operation.
The inquest into the death of Harold Duthoit, 72, of Prairie Crescent, Burnley, has also been opened and adjourned pending further enquiries. Mr Duthoit died on February 5 at Swallow House, Dovecourt, Burnley, possibly from lung disease as a result of exposure to asbestos at work.
The East Lancashire coroner, David Smith, opened another case following the death of Alan Stowell, 80, of Accrington Road, Burnley, at Royal Preston Infirmary on February 6 after suffering a head injury. It too was adjourned.
