CASH was given to the NSPCC in memory of a man who died when he was struck by a train. Nigel Summersgill, of Exchange Street, Accrington, died in September at Church railway station, aged 39.
Members of Blackburn Golf Club raised £175 through collections and raffles last year. Mr Summersgill's mother, Eileen, a club member, presented the cheque with the lady vice captain, Jean Thornber, to Louise O'Sullivan, of NSPCC appeals. The club members also gave £175 to the Macmillan Nurses charity.
