A LEADING St Helens councillor is to step down.
Richard Ward, who is chairman of the town's housing and environmental services committee, Richard Ward says he will not be seeking re-election at the local elections in May.
The Labour member for Moss Bank has represented the ward for the past eight years and has been election agent for both the current St Helens North MP, Dave Watts and his predecessor, Lord John Evans of Parkside. Councillor Ward said: "I would like to thank everybody who has supported me throughout my years in Moss Bank. I plan to concentrate on my career.
