ARSONISTS torched vehicles at a garage near Kirkham this week, causing tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Four cars were burnt out in the attack at the Lea Gate Motors garage on Blackpool Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning (February 8).
It is not known what motivated the attackers who also smashed up and badly damaged three other cars on the forecourt of the used car garage.
The burnt out vehicles were a BMW, a Peugeot Sports car, Vauxhall Vectra and a Nissan people carrier.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any activity near the garage at that time to contact them.
Det Con Carl Duckworth of St Annes police said: "This was a very serious attack and it is not clear what the motivation was.
"We are very keen to speak to anyone who may have been driving past at that time and noticed anyone on the forecourt of the garage.
"The forecourt is well lit and as it lies on the main Blackpool to Preston road it is likely somebody may have seen something.
"It is almost certain the offender or offenders gained access in a vehicle and drove away after the attack."
Police are particularly keen to speak to a man who rang the Fire Brigade on a mobile phone at 2.10am on Tuesday (February 8) to alert them about the blaze.
Anyone with any information should contact St Annes CID on (01253) 604640 or ring the Crimestoppers line on (0800) 555111.
