WE'RE on our way to . . . Edinburgh!
The Scottish capital doesn't quite have the same ring as Wembley, but the glittering excitement of cup rugby remains the same.
And on Sunday Leigh are back on the Challenge Cup trail.
Not that Wakefield Trinity will be quaking in their boots at the thought of treading the hallowed turf of Hilton Park: not if past records have any significance.
The teams have been paired five times, seven matches including two replays. Leigh have failed to win one and have scraped a total of just FIFTEEN points!
They met twice in the 1896/97 campaign: 0-0 at Leigh, 13-4 at Wakefield.
Leigh were at home again in 1908/09, Trinity on song at 9-3.
Then came 1946/47 and a 3-3 draw at Leigh, Trinity triumphant 5-0 in their own back yard.
Leigh at home again in 1955/56 and reaching their top total of FIVE points. Trinity scored 11.
The Yorkshire side managed only five points in the 1972/73 encounter at Hilton Park. Leigh failed to trouble the scorers.
History, however, counts for nowt.
Edin-burgh! Edin-burgh!
Well, we are allowed to dream, aren't we?
