STUDENTS at Blackburn College are organising a sports event for youngsters with with learning and physical difficulties.
The Millennium Sporting Bonanza has been specially designed to strengthen links between disabled youngsters and give them more opportunity to take part in the local sporting scene. The Sport For All event is being held over a three-day period during the first weekend of April.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has agreed to back the event and is joining forces with the college students to stage the sporting bonanza.
A series of events are being held across the borough at a number of venues, including Waves swimming pool, Audley Sports and Community Centre and Witton Country Park.
The organisers are also on the lookout for sponsors and anyone wanting the back the event should contact David Whelan at Blackburn College, on 01254 292127, as soon as possible.
