ANOTHER 'Douglas' is starting to make a name for himself at Ewood Park and, if he does only half as well as former England star Bryan, then 18-year-old midfielder Jonathan will be a big success.
The youngster, a native of Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland, has graduated through the Ewood junior ranks to sign full professional forms with the club.
Douglas has already represented his country at youth level and played a leading role in Rovers' inaugural FA Premier Academy League success last season. "I'm delighted to be signing professional terms and recognise the chance it gives me to further my career," said Jonathan.
"I have always been very happy here and the future looks very exciting."
Academy director Bobby Downes is delighted to see another young player make the step up and said: "Jonathan has progressed well during his time with us and we feel he has what it takes to take this important step up to senior level.
"He does so with the best wishes of everyone at the Academy."
