LANCASHIRE Lynx face a daunting trip to The Boulevard tomorrow to take on Super League outfit Hull in the fourth round of the Silk Cut Challenge Cup knockout.
After two successive home victories Lynx slipped back into old ways at Barrow in a performance which mystified coach Steve Hampson.
He was unhappy that they were unable to keep hold of the ball for six tackles and this ultimately brought about their downfall.
Hampson is hoping that despite the strong opposition, the players come away with some pride and can hold their heads up high.
Phil Knowles misses the game through injury while Danny Butler signed after the cup deadline.
However, Anton Garcia returns after suspension and Jason Demetriou and Danny Houghton are expected to be fit after missing last week's defeat.
Hull's pre season has been surrounded by controversy after their merger with Gateshead, which certainly saved the Humberside outfit from being relegated to the Northern Ford Premiership.
They are coached by Shaun McCrae, who was at Gateshead last season, and most of the Hull side will be made up of the Australian contingent who were at Gateshead.
However, other signings include ex-Great Britain prop forward Paul Broadbent and mercurial scrum half Stanley Gene from local rivals Hull KR, a player who has won man of the match twice against Lynx in two previous games.
Hull have played just one pre season game so far, beating Halifax 27-12 with an under strength side, and they are bound to be a formidable outfit when at full strength.
Lynx will select from: Roberts, Kay, Roden, Garcia, Jones, Demetriou, Alexander, Prescott, Hannan, Norton, Farrell, Smith, Doherty, Hilton, O'Loughlin, Vincent, Houghton, Rostance, Ramsdale. Kick-off 3.15pm.
