THE writing's on the wall for a dull stretch of brickwork in Nelson town centre.
Contractors were on site in Sagar Street yesterday marking out a mural that will brighten up the wall opposite the bus station.
The mural, depicting local landmarks and figures outlined on steel sheets, will stretch 250ft along the 9ft high wall.
It is part of a series of improvements designed to transform the centre and attract more shoppers to the town.
The mural scheme will be funded by European and British grants and supported by a number of organisations including Pendle Council and environmental group Groundwork East Lancashire.
