AN alert over potentially lethal drugs has been issued after a batch of prescription medicines went missing on a bus.
The medicines were mislaid by a patient travelling on a bus between Accrington and Blackburn around 5.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
The drugs are described as very dangerous if taken in large quantities and particularly dangerous to children.
Accrington police were contacted by doctors from Blackburn Royal Infirmary on Saturday to say a patient in their care had left the medicines on the bus.
The drugs are Clopixol, Cipramil, Nitrazepam and Procylidine but police do not know how many pills were in each bottle.
Doctors are particularly concerned about the Clopixol and Procylidine which are potentially fatal if taken by children.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the medicines is being urged to contact Accrington Police Station as soon as possible on 01254 382141.
