HAWKS suffered a bitterly disappointing weekend in the English League Division One (North) as their play-off hopes were all but wiped out.
Player-coach Bobby Haig called these "two must-win games," but Saturday's trip to Kingston was always going to be tough.
And when Hawks came up against an in-form Sheffield side at the Arena on Sunday, even a hat trick from Dan Mackriel was not enough to seal the win.
Haig even popped up with two goals himself to boost his battling side, but Hawks now need to win their final two games against Bradford and Whitley Bay to stand a chance of making the play-offs.
