AN air ambulance was called to moorland near Pendle Hill after a horse-riding accident.
Anne Langley, 43, of Pendle House Barn, Barley, was thrown from her horse when it was "spooked" while she was out riding near Twiston crossroads in the shadow of Pendle, on the road between Barley and Downham.
The air ambulance was scrambled and the crew gave Mrs Langley first aid treatment at the scene.
Mrs Langley, who was wearing a helmet, was briefly knocked unconscious.
She was taken to Burnley General Hospital by ordinary ambulance suffering from minor arm and leg injuries.
She was left bruised by the fall but was discharged after treatment.
The accident happened at 10.15am yesterday.
