EXAM and competition success is being celebrated at Ally Katz Dance Studio, Blackburn.
Sarah Lang was highly commended in her associate ballroom exam and Emma Knowles was highly commended in her associate disco exam. Sixty other dancers also achieved high marks in the their exams.
Judges liked what they saw when a team from the dance school entered regional disco competitions. Some of them will go on to perform in the national championships in Guildford later his year.
The qualifiers in the compulsory figures were current national champion Laura Carruthers, Gemma Cocker, Claire Critchley, Hilary Dicken and Steven Dicken.
Rock 'n' Roll qualifying couples were Gemma Cocker and Laura Carruthers and Chantelle Leyland Dewhurst and Jessica Topping. In the creative section, Christine Dewhurst, Laura Carruthers and Gemma Cocker scooped first places and a further 10 finalist places. Medalist places were taken by the 25 other dancers.
Horizon, the over 16's team, and the under 14's team Moonrise, both got first place positions. Horizon will now compete at a more advanced level in future competitions.
