A 33-YEAR-OLD man believed to have links with East Lancashire has appeared in court charged with the double murder of a man and woman found shot through the head in a seaside resort.

Raymond Whittaker, of no fixed abode, appeared before Bridlington magistrates charged with the murders of 44-year-old Patricia Price and Ian Clark, 35, who were found at a house in Stamford Walk in the East Yorkshire resort in the early hours of December 18.

Whittaker, who was thought to have fled to the Bacup area, was also charged with the attempted murder of wealthy businessman Trevor Shine, in Brookwood, Surrey, on December 1. He was remanded in custody for seven days.
