DARING couples celebrated Valentine's Day early by abseiling 120ft down a tower at Blackburn fire station.
The event was organised to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity with the help of firefighters.
A steady stream of people abseiled down the tower throughout the day and even the firefighters took part in the event.
Sam Turberfield from the charity said: "We were looking for people who wanted to celebrate Valentine's Day by doing something completely different.
"Everyone was welcome to come along whether they were a Romeo without a Juliet or people looking for a completely unique way to say 'I love you' to that special someone."
