MOTORISTS are being warned about roadworks which look set to cause traffic problems on Blackburn and Darwen roads in the next few weeks.

The first to start involves resurfacing work at Copy Nook, between Higher Audley Street and Harwood Street, which starts tomorrow and will take seven weeks to complete.

Brown Street, between Penny Street and Ainsworth Street in the town centre, will be closed from Monday, March 6 while resurfacing work is completed.

Two-way traffic lights will be in operation while the work is carried out.

Other schemes planned are:

Starting on February 24, resurfacing work at Livesey Branch Road, from Heys Lane to Gib Lane, taking up to six weeks, with temporary traffic lights in place.

Seven days work in New Chapel Street, Parkinson Street and New Wellington Street, while new road markings and signs are put in place.

Repairs to a wall and rebuilding of the carriageway at Grange Brook, Belmont Road, Belmont, taking a month to complete. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.
