AN East Lancashire based charity is taking over a theme park for the day on April 1 - but it's no April fool!

The International Aid Trust is holding a family fun day at Camelot in Chorley to raise funds for its humanitarian work.

The trust, based in Lower Bank Street, Withnell, is expecting between 5,000 and 8,000 people at the event.

Tickets for the day cost £5 if purchased in advance - a saving of £3.99.

Visitors are invited to bring a shoe box of toiletries along with them to help fill a truck bound for Eastern Europe.

In the last year, the charity has delivered more than 1,100 tonnes of humanitarian aid worldwide.

It provided more than 1,900 holidays for needy children in its own children's camps at the Black Sea and has funded reconstructive surgery for disfigured children in Eastern Europe. Tickets for the family fun day are available from International Aid Trust charity shops, from reception at Chorley Town Hall or by sending a cash or cheque to International Aid Trust, Lower Bank Street, Withnell, Chorley PR6 8RY. They can also be bought by credit card by telephoning 01254 832333.
