FRENCHMAN Richard Pissochet is supporting a local charity by returning to his native land to run his first marathon.
Richard, 37, of Clitheroe, will run the 26 miles in Paris in April with his twin brother Sylvain, who still lives in France.
Richard ran for many years when a soldier in the French army but stopped running regularly a few years ago. He is now in training for the race and says he is confident he would be able to finish it.
Richard is trying to raise cash for the Ribble Valley Dyslexia Support Group, which meets at the Trinity Centre, Clitheroe, and is hoping local businesses will sponsor him.
Anyone who would like to sponsor him can call Lisa Pissochet on 01200 443106. Anyone who would like to join the support group can come to their next meeting at 7.30pm on Monday.
