POLL tax bills in Rossendale could have been as much as £335 per head, the council's controlling Labour group had forecast. The figure would have come as a shock to householders, who had been told by the Department of the Environment the previous year that the figure would be about £199. The poll tax was to be discussed at a special meeting of Rossendale council.
