A CLEAN-UP scheme launched in Accrington last year by Hyndburn Council is being extended to neighbouring towns.
The Great Hyndburn Clean Up this week moved to Church and Oswaldtwistle.
The aim is to smarten up town centres with more street cleaning patrols and new motorised cleaning trolleys. The campaign also includes fining residents who put their bin bags out too early, tackling dog dirt and stepping up legal action against fly tippers.
Council leader Peter Britcliffe said: "This is not a short-term fix. As long as the Conservative administration is in office, we will maintain these services."
