A WORKER injured after being dragged into machinery at a Ribble Valley sawmill is still seriously ill in hospital today, 12 days after the accident.

Jack Parsons, 44, of Moor Close Farm, Barnoldswick, was working on a conveyor belt feeding a sawing machine at Railside Trading Company, Gisburn, when he became trapped in the spindles driving the belt.

He suffered serious chest, arm and leg injuries in the accident on February 4.

Staff at St James's Hospital, Leeds, where Mr Parsons is being treated, said he was seriously ill but stable.
