THE new-look Burnley town centre has been given the official go-ahead.
Burnley Council has granted outline planning permission for the redevelopment of Burnley bus station.
And at the same time councillors discussed the detailed application for the new Sainsbury superstore on the Prestige factory site on Colne Road.
"Coupled with the current application for a Tesco supermarket on the town's Centenary Way, the three proposals represent a complete new look for that part of the centre," said Burnley's development control manager David Ellis.
Artists' impressions of all three developments are on display in the foyer of the planning office in Parker Lane and the council wants the public's views on how the plans measure up to expectations.
Staff will be available to discuss the proposals during office hours.
