TYLDESLEY SC have had a good start to 2000 with success in comps at Kirklees, Everton, Horwich and Newcastle.
The 200/400 meet at Kirklees provided hot competition for Kelly Banner, Stuart Carlisle, Khalid Jhugroo, Charlotte Steele and Samantha Thompson.
Top finisher was Khalid, who scored a second in the 200 IM (NQT) with a PB 3rd in the 200 backstroke and fourth in the 200 freestyle.
At the City of Liverpool Winter Meet 16-year-old Kate Ward collected the Top Girl prize.
She won the 400 freestyle (PB/NQT) and the 100 butterfly, adding seconds in the 100 freestyle and 200 IM and a third in the 200 freestyle.
Good performances from Jessica Howarth, Samantha Thompson and Charlotte Steele.
Horwich, hosting the B&D Age Groups, was the venue for 10-year-old Kimberley Banner's first taste of competition.
And she set PBs with a bronze in the 100 IM plus a fourth in the 50 freestyle.
The Grand Prix at Newcastle saw Leanne Watmough, 16, slash four seconds off her PB in the 200 breaststroke (NQT) for second overall (first in age group).
Leanne was also first in the 100 breaststroke (NQT).
