SAVE Leigh Court champion MP Lawrence Cunliffe has launched a closure decision probe.
He is questioning suggestions that North and West Greater Manchester Magistrates Courts Committee had decided to close Leigh Court before D-Day.
And he is curious to know whether the committee had considered plans to temporarily relocate Bolton Magistrates' Court to Leigh.
In a letter to Justices' Chief Executive Terry McNeill he asks whether such plans have been, or are being considered "in case the appeal to the Lord Chancellor about the closure of Leigh Magistrates' Court will fail".
Mr Cunliffe asked: "Can you further comment whether, when your Committee decided to recommend closure of Leigh Magistrates' Court, some, or the whole of your Committee, were aware of the need to provide an alternative location for Bolton Magistrates Court while the refurbishment takes place?
"I am already pursuing the matter with the Duchy of Lancaster and the Lord Chancellor as well as requesting Madam Speaker for an adjournment date on the closure issue."
Mr McNeill was unavailable for comment.
