THESE two young gymnasts from the area will represent the whole of the North West in the national championships later this year.
Jamie Morris, 11, and Stuart Mayor, 17, beat off competition from just about every town and city in the region to win the North West championships at Liverpool last week. That means they can compete in the British Gymnastics Finals in Portsmouth in April.
And there was more success for the area's junior gymnastics club Smartac, based at St Martin's College. Other members of the club, some of whom compete at a higher level, also won two silver and three bronze medals.
"We have some very exciting talent here as well as Stuart and Jamie," said club organiser Jo Thomas.
