Penrith 0, West Park 15

A TREMENDOUS second half defensive stint against both a determined Penrith attack and all the adverse extremes of the Cumbrian weather saw West Park retain their unbeaten league record.

A 10-nil lead at the interval with wind advantage hardly looked sufficient. A Paul Bailey penalty and the conversion of an interception try by the centre gave Park their first half points but the vital score came early in the second half as after several rolling mauls by the Park pack scrum- half Chris O'Toole pounced to score an unconverted try.

Great ball retention by their forwards, superbly organised by O'Toole and strong tackling held out to the final whistle leaving Park with just one away league game remaining and four at home to complete their league programme.
