THE teenager dubbed the new Michael Owen made his debut for North End on Tuesday as part of his trial at the club.

Welsh teenager Craig Wilkinson, 16, is being chased by a host of Premiership clubs but is spending a week at Deepdale. Following his 13 minutes on the pitch against Port Vale, he will play for the youth side tomorrow (Friday).

BARNSLEY have confessed they would love to sign Sean Gregan, but they can't afford him. But as soon as Dave Bassett confirmed the Oakwell side were dropping out of the race for Gregan, reports appeared linking Gregan with Everton, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.

BJARKI Gunnlaugsson is a new injury worry for North End. He picked up a knock to the heel on Tuesday. Other injuries include Kurt Nogan, Brian Murphy and Lee Cartwright.

PRESTON North End's fans made up half of the crowd at the weekend at Chesterfield, with close to 2200 making the 200-mile round trip to Saltergate. A total of 4,726 turned up for the game, which North End won 1-0.

NORTH End are putting their super six tickets on sale, covering games against Oxford, Luton, Wrexham, Cardiff, Scunthorpe and Millwall. They will cost the equivalent of category B games.

NORTH End's Away Day Express train service could return for future away games, even though the last one ended up costing North End money. With trips to Bournemouth and Bristol on the cards, North End are keen to do as much as they can to help the travel-weary fans.
