I WONDER if Blackburn Transport are aware that anybody pushing a pram is not supposed to use the specially-adapted buses they are so thoughtfully providing.

Since the birth of my daughter four months ago, the comments have ranged from "She is taking up too much room" - when I was sitting in the area designated for prams! - to "At this time of day, she must be a single parent and our taxes are keeping her and her child." (Wrong! I am on maternity leave from my full-time job) and "She should stop at home."

We are now in the 21st century, not the Victorian era, and I did not realise having a baby makes you into a social leper.

I am sorry if Blackburn Transport find that their now buses are not well used.

Perhaps the above will help them understand why.

The people who made the above comments know who they are and I hope they are ashamed of themselves.

JULIE CORRIGAN (Mrs), Marlton Road, Blackburn.
