MAYORS from throughout the north joined Rossendale civic leaders Alan and Janet Neal for the annual Mayor's Ball at the Astoria Ballroom.
More than 200 people attended, enjoying dancing and a sit-down dinner.
Music was provided by Rawtenstall singing duo Catherine and Leanne, Yorkshire's Steve Philips and the Rough Diamonds band.
The occasion was the last civic ball for Rossendale mayor's attendant and chauffeur Bob Trickett who retires in April after 30 years of dedicated service - and without a day's holiday.
Bob, 62, of Tunstead Road, Stacksteads, worked seven days a week by choice and loved the job so much it became both his work and social life.
He took up his civic duties in 1970 as attendant and chauffeur to the Rawtenstall Mayor Alderman Ted Dugdale, and continued to serve each mayor through to the Coun Neal.
Picture shows Coun Neal welcoming the Mayor of Pendle Coun Edwina Sargeant. With them are, from the left, Donna Hartley, Mayoress of Rossendale Janet Neal, Rossendale Chief Executive Steven Hartley and Dorothy Lord, Mayoress of Pendle.
