A 28-YEAR-OLD man made a rapid return to the dock after calling stipendiary magistrate Jonathon Finestein a 'bald headed coot.'
Derek Wildman, of no fixed address, had been committed in custody to Preston Crown Court on a charge of making a threat to kill Stacey Gretch.
He shouted his comment as he was being led down to the cells and Mr Finestein told defence solicitor Kevin Preston he would be brought back and dealt with for contempt of court.
When Wildman was brought back later in the morning, Mr Preston apologised on his behalf, but Wildman was reluctant to repeat the apology when asked if he had anything to say.
Mr Finestein said he was not satisfied the apology was meant and sentenced Wildman to 14 days in prison.
"These courts will not tolerate this kind of disrespectful behaviour," he said.
