BAD news hit boozers as Blackburn-based brewer Matthew Brown announced it was slapping 5p on the price of a pint.
The increase would nudge the price in many East Lancashire pubs through the £1-a-pint barrier. And drinkers were warned that there could be worse to come with the budget and new business rates looming.
