IS the criticism of Lancashire Social Services fair? (LET, February 7 and 8).
I can write authoritatively of the work carried out by the ground forces of the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley purchasing teams at Clitheroe and Accrington in regard to myself.
I am 98-years-old and because of their tireless help I have been able to reside comfortably in my own home for the last three years.
Spreading out from those offices is a network of help: the Castleford Residential and Day Centre, Hyndburn Lifeline, Home Care, the Rishton finance office, the district nurses and doctors from the Montague Health Centre and 'Carol's Angels.'
Every one is determined to make my remaining years as pleasant and comfortable as possible. My sincere thanks to you all, not forgetting the ambulance service.
