MENINGITIS continues to hit the headlines and although we have seen the introduction of the new vaccine against meningococcal C, there is still no vaccine against other strains and people continue to get this devastating disease.
The National Meningitis Trust supports those affected by the disease, raises awareness so that more people can recognise the symptoms and funds vital research.
Readers can help us by taking part in our National Coffee Morning on Thursday, March 23, when we aim to hold 2,000 events and raise £200,000.
Coffee mornings can be held in homes, village halls, places of work or any suitable venue.
If you are interested in hosting a coffee morning please write for an event pack to the National Meningitis Trust, Fern House, Bath Road, Stroud GL5 3TJ or telephone on 01453 768000.
Details are also available on our web-site at www.meningitis-trust.org.uk
